AR1B Process Updates

Since moving transcripts to Parchment in 2014, academic regulation 1b had not been effectively enforced. Following changes to the language of the regulation, approved by Academic Regulations Committee the Faculty Senate, the OtR worked to create a job that applies an attribute to courses students completed as a non-degree seeking student. This attribute is tracked in MyDegrees so as no more than 36 credits earned as a non-degree seeking student will apply toward a degree.

Year of Compliance Education

The academic year 2019-2020 was OtR's Year of Compliance Education. During the academic year, OtR managers held sessions for the university community on compliance topics related to grading, student privacy, catalog requirements, curriculum development, course scheduling, and compliance related to the classroom.

Active Duty Attendance Accommodate Policy

During the summer of 2019, our office partnered with Student Affairs to develop a military accommodations policy that aligned with both state and federal statutes related to students’ rights when they are called to active duty or training in the military. This policy was communicated to faculty and staff via email notifications, web pages, and through three sessions on compliance in the classroom.

Arts Upper-Division Course Differential Fee Coding

The Office of the Registrar partnered with Business Affairs to create separate detail codes for Corvallis and Cascades campuses.  The project applied Corvallis detail codes as the default at the catalog level.  Updated existing banner records and maintain section details moving forward will charge differential tuition for all upper-division (300/400) ART, GD, MUS, MUED, TA courses with a few exceptions including: athletic bands, Baccalaureate Core courses (Excluding WIC courses), and all MUP courses.

OtR Website Phase I

This project involved reviewing and adapting content on the OtR website for: accuracy, biased language, and accessibility. This also involved removing duplicitous content and streamlining information in order to provide clarity.

We Have Work to Do - OtR

We Have Work To Do is a university-wide campaign that will be led by the Office of Institutional Diversity during the 2018-19 academic year. The campaign recognizes the strides we have made to advance diversity as a university community while acknowledging that there is much to be done — creative, continuous, collaborative efforts are necessary to transform Oregon State into a university motivated by diversity, inclusion and social justice. We have Work to Do in the OtR is the Office of the Registrar’s contribution to this university-wide effort.
