Learning Outcomes in Curriculum Proposal Software CIM

Office of the Registrar is a partner in this project with Academic Programs & Assessments to add all course learning outcomes to the Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM) software.

The obtainment of the CIM system that supports a robust submission and review process, will ensure consistent, level-appropriate, and measurable outcomes in all syllabi. In addition, the course learning outcomes provide important transparency for the transferability of courses for students and any potential accreditation needs.

Academic Standing Improvements

This project will improve the communication and education for students and advisors regarding the processes involving students’ academic standing including the different marks/grades and their impact on the process, such as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory, Pass/No Credit, and Withdrawal (passing).

In addition, this will develop a similar academic standing calculation process for completed terms as the current term and communication for notifying students when academic standing for past terms changes.

Automated Withdraw from Course/Term (AR 12/13)

Creation of an Automic Workload Automation (AWA) job for automation of the processing when students exceed the maximum of individual course withdrawals allowed per the Academic Regulations (AR) 12 (Withdrawal from Individual Classes) and AR 13 (Withdrawal from the Term) and provide an automated solution for withdrawal from the term requests made by students.

The communications to students and key offices such as International Services and OtR Athletics will also be automated.

Student Holds Display Enhancement

This updates description texts on holds so that students see a quick link that takes them to a corresponding website, explaining why a hold is placed and how to clear it.

Decertified Courses CORE Report

This is a partner project related to Academic Regulation 25 (Institutional Requirements for Baccalaureate Degrees [Undergraduate Students]) including Institutional Analytics & Reporting (IAR), Office of Admissions, and advisors.

Race and Ethnicity Data

Upon applying to OSU, students can select their race and ethnicity.  The information being stored in Banner is extracted to provide information about our student populations in CORE reports.  Departments, colleges, cultural centers, leadership, etc. use this banner data and reporting in CORE to understand how to serve different populations of students.

Summer Sessions Policy

While OSU has operated a successful Summer Session program for over 60 years, this project aims to publish policy and procedure guidance for the university community to reference when determining suitability and compliance of course offerings.

This will also identify goals and areas of opportunity in the Summer Session program, in an effort to strengthen on-campus offerings in support of student success initiatives.

Honor Roll FERPA Compliance

Correct the job output for reporting students on honor roll and update the student records policy.

PIPS Restructure

The schedule of jobs will be reviewed for relevancy, accuracy of parameters, and other details of historical context currently missing.  Create an annual schedule of jobs in AWA.

Website Phase II

Following phase I, which included content review, phase II will include restructuring of the Office of the Registrar website to be more user-friendly.
