Dear OSU Community Members,

With the emergence of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, I write to encourage you to prioritize obtaining your COVID-19 Vaccine booster shot as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), current vaccines are expected to protect against severe illness, hospitalization, and death due to infection with the Omicron variant. However, the CDC recommends that everyone ages 18 years and older should get a booster shot to provide the strongest available protection against new variants. 

Visit Vaccine.gov to find a location near you that is providing vaccine boosters. If you are in the Corvallis area, OSU will host a booster clinic in the CH2M Hill Alumni Center, Wednesday, Dec. 15, and Thursday, Dec. 16, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in partnership with Samaritan Health Services and Benton County Health Department. No advance appointments will be necessary.

Once you have obtained your booster, you can upload your updated CDC vaccination card here.

In consultation with local public health authorities, OSU continues to have the tools available to maintain the university's delivery of primarily in-person teaching, research, and engagement. We will continue to monitor public health conditions and provide you with updates as necessary.
