From: Office of the President
Dear Members of the OSU Community,
I am delighted to share that Kevin Griffin has been named vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics at Oregon State University. He starts in the role on July 6.
A changemaker with a clear vision for OSU’s athletics programs, Kevin is a former student-athlete, who is passionate about ensuring that today’s student-athletes not only have the resources and support to win at the highest levels of competition but also to develop academically and succeed long after their athletic careers.
Kevin is a proven leader and brand builder with a strong record of revenue generation. Since July 2022, he has served as associate vice president, brand engagement, services and partnerships and the associate director of athletics for business strategy at The Ohio State University, one of the country's largest and most successful athletics programs.
Kevin’s expertise in business strategy, revenue generation and marketing positions Oregon State Athletics as an innovative, national leader, aggressively and proactively adapting to the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics.
I greatly appreciate and thank Scott Barnes for his partnership, dedication and commitment to Oregon State University, its athletics programs and OSU student-athletes.
I extend my gratitude to Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer Carla Ho‘ā, who chaired the search advisory committee, and to the entire committee. Their insight and expertise were invaluable throughout this process.
With the launch of the reimagined Pac-12 just weeks away, I can’t wait to start working with Kevin. Please join me in welcoming him to OSU and Beaver Nation!
Sincerely,
Jayathi Y. Murthy, President
