Dear OSU Students,

I write to announce an additional university measure that will be required as we continue to address the risk and spread of COVID-19.

Beginning Sept. 15 and until further notice, unvaccinated employees and students required to comply with the university’s vaccination program – and who work or are enrolled and take classes on the Corvallis or OSU-Cascades campuses – will be required to test weekly for COVID-19. This added measure will be in place as long as the University determines that local prevalence of the disease warrants it. Requiring regular COVID-19 testing for unvaccinated OSU community members will help protect this population, detect cases earlier, and help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Employees and students who are in the process of becoming fully vaccinated are required to test weekly, until they are fully vaccinated – which is typically two weeks after a person’s receipt of their final dose. Compliance with this testing requirement will be verified weekly. Employees who are found to not be in compliance with this weekly testing requirement beginning the week of Sept. 27 may face disciplinary action, up to and including termination of university employment. Students who are not in compliance may face disciplinary action, up to and including suspension from the university.

OSU will provide testing options for students on its Corvallis and Bend campuses. Detailed information on the testing process will be provided in the coming days.

Please submit your vaccination information:

Thank you to the thousands of OSU community members who have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 and have complied with OSU’s vaccination program. If you have not already completed the compliance process, please do so now.

We understand that these remain concerning and stressful times, and we thank you for your continued support of OSU’s responsive and comprehensive public health measures. We will continue to look to each other for care and compassion, as well as expect a shared contribution in supporting public health, as we move forward together with our Pathway to Fall.

Thank you,
