From: Associate Vice President for Budget and Resource Planning
Dear Colleagues,
I am excited and humbled to have the opportunity to serve as Chancellor and Dean for OSU-Cascades.
The work you are all doing to build a distinctive, small-university experience for students aligned with OSU’s mission as Oregon’s international land-grant, research-intensive university is exciting and unique. I look forward to working with you in this important journey. The support of the Bend community and the partnerships you have built in Central Oregon are truly integral components of OSU-Cascades’ incredible success and I look forward to working to continue this extraordinary collaboration to advance the essential role of higher education in the future of Central Oregon.
I look forward to talking with each of you and gaining a deeper understanding of your work, your vision for the future and the challenges you see that need attention. The progress that has been made in building the campus and its programming under the leadership and contributions of Becky Johnson, Andrew Ketsdever, Kelly Sparks, and so many of you is remarkable.
The chance to work with all of you, President Murthy, Provost Feser, and colleagues in Corvallis on the next phases of campus development, launching the innovation district, advancing student success, and building new academic programs is one I am tremendously excited about. I also look forward to engaging with Bend and Central Oregon community members and advancing their engagement and support for OSU-Cascades.
I welcome your questions and input.
Best regards, Sherm Bloomer, Associate Vice President for Budget and Resource Planning
