[Cascades] Drop-In personal support opportunities and resources for OSU Cascades Students

Body

From: Associate Dean of Students

Dear students,

The news regarding Cascades campus leadership this week has been unsettling for our Bend Beavs community.  During this time, we want to make sure that every student is aware of the resources that are available to support them through this challenging time. In addition to the regular resources available to students, we have organized and expanded drop-in hours for a variety of OSU support resources and encourage you to seek out the help that you need.

  • If you need to talk to someone, we have some upcoming in person drop-in opportunities next week.
  • The Office of Equal Opportunity and Access Drop-In Hours
  • 1:30-4:00 on Monday,  April 13 and 11:30-2 and on Wednesday, April 15 in RAYH 306B.
    • Topics may include:
      • Discrimination, Discriminatory Harassment, Retaliation
      • Response to Sexual Misconduct, Intimate Partner Violence and Stalking
      • Accessibility and Accommodations
      • Equity and Inclusive Hiring Practices
  •  Student Health and Wellness Counseling Drop-In Hours in the Student Health and Wellness office (SSC 105)

    •  Wednesday, April 15th from 1:00-5:00
  • CAPE (the Center for Advocacy, Prevention and Education) Drop-In Hours
    • CAPE works to prevent interpersonal and gender-based violence and to support survivors who have experienced harm
    • Communications with CAPE Advocates are CONFIDENTIAL and protected by advocate privilege
      • Advocates will be available Tuesday, April 14th from 1:30-4:30 in RAYH 306B and on Wednesday, April 15th from 10:30-1:00 in the Residence Hall (REH) 103 (open to all students, not just residence hall students)
  • Cascades Student Care Case Manager Drop-In Hours
    • Student Care helps students problem-solve within the university and community through one-on-one support, access referrals for personal matters/emergencies and navigate Oregon State University policies and procedures

    • April 14 2:30-3:30 in SSC 103E

In addition to drop-in hours for CAPE, their support is available to all OSU students and virtual appointments are available.  They also have a Survivors Resource Guide online that lists other options for support and includes national hotlines, state resources and local Bend options for support.

OSU-Cascades also has a variety of counseling and mental health support resources. These include:

We hope these resources reinforce that OSU has and will continue to work diligently to provide support to any university community member impacted by news of this transition.

Sincerely,
