From: The Office of Information Security
Dear OSU Community,
As part of our continual efforts to ensure that Oregon State University and its community are protected
from cyber threats — particularly phishing — we are making adjustments to Duo to further increase our
security capabilities. As a result, you will see a new screen after logging in to an OSU service using your
ONID credentials, beginning on Monday, October 30.

New Duo Screen
How will this impact me?
While there is no direct impact and no action required on your end, we wanted to notify the community
ahead of this change to reassure you that this is a legitimate Duo login screen and not a phish.
Will there be other changes in Duo security measures coming up?
Yes. We are taking steps to enable Verified Duo Push for the OSU community. Verified Duo Push will
impact the way users engage with Duo to approve a login request. Instead of sending you a push
notification asking you to approve the request, Duo will show you a one-time, unique verification code
that you will need to enter in the Duo Mobile app. We will notify the OSU community before we activate
Verified Duo Push.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please contact the Service Desk at
beav.es/help or by calling 541-737-8787.
Respectfully,
David McMorries, Chief Information Security Officer, Office of Information Security
