Dear OSU Students,

Over the past week, we have engaged in conversation with students regarding the effects that the pandemic, remote learning, and stresses associated with current events are causing. In recognition of these challenges, the university is making two important changes to support flexibility for you in the final weeks of fall term.

The deadline to withdraw from an individual course during fall term is now Dec. 1, 2020.

The deadline to change your grading basis between A/F and S/U also is now Dec. 1, 2020.

Because there are possible implications associated with withdrawing from courses or changing your grading basis for your academic progression and future study options, I strongly advise you to consult with your academic advisor before making any decisions about using the S/U option or withdrawing from a course.

The university intends to extend these deadlines during winter term as well, and we will announce those changes at the start of winter term.

I wish you all academic success during the remainder of fall term.

Sincerely,

Edward Feser

Provost and Executive Vice President
