Dear OSU Students,

I write to share important COVID-19 related updates and information items for you.

Holiday Testing Program: As you make plans to travel and/or gather with friends and families, please take measures to minimize potential spread of COVID-19. Limit your exposure by wearing face coverings, keep distancing from others, wash your hands frequently, and limit the size of your gatherings.

We encourage you to enroll to be included in weekly testing opportunities. Additionally, Project Baseline, a community-based testing initiative, is offering anyone a free COVID-19 test at Rite Aid drugstores in Oregon, Washington, California and other select states. While a negative test result does not confirm you are free of the virus and are not infectious, testing is an added precaution that can help you make the best decision on how to celebrate the holidays with family and friends.

In addition to weekly surveillance testing through TRACE-OSU, OSU students who live in the Corvallis or Bend areas will be invited to obtain a free test the week of Nov. 16. During that week, you will receive an invitation and QR code to use at a TRACE OSU testing site. In order to minimize lines at the testing sites, we will send invitations in batches – other students you know may receive an invitation before or after you. Please go to a testing site as soon as possible after receiving your invitation. Results will be returned within three business days, meaning those who participate will have their test results by Tuesday, Nov. 24. Please participate and help minimize the potential spread of the virus within your home communities and among families and friends.

Contact Tracing: Please take time to understand how the contact tracing process works and be sure to answer any calls from contact tracers. More information on contact tracing, and what to expect when contacted, may be found here.

Wishing you all good health!

Sincerely,

Dan Larson
