Dear OSU Community,
As part of our ongoing commitment to cybersecurity, we are transitioning our OSU login system to Microsoft Entra Single Sign-On (SSO) to streamline the sign-in process and increase protections against cybersecurity threats. The update to your OSU login experience will occur on Thursday, August 22.
Why the Change? Microsoft Entra SSO is already used for email and other Microsoft 365 applications. This change is part of our continued effort to elevate our security practices, ensuring that every OSU login request is fully authenticated and authorized before granting access.
What Does This Mean for You? A unified login process across all OSU applications will reduce the need for multiple logins as you move between applications and services. Your OSU login will continue to be a username and password sign-in process followed by Duo authentication.
What do I need to do? Please be prepared for a change in the OSU login process on August 22. This login process requires your [email protected] to sign-in, not just your ONID. For example, Benny Beaver needs to enter [email protected] to sign-in; entering beaverb will not be successful.
What’s my ONID? It is your OSU Network Identifier, most often a shortened combination of your last and first names. Learn more by visiting onid.oregonstate.edu.

If you have any questions or concerns or experience issues with OSU login after the change, please contact the Service Desk at beav.es/help or by calling 541-737-8787.
Thank you for your continued support as we enhance our login process to make it more secure and efficient for OSU.
Respectfully,
David McMorries, Chief Information Security Officer, Office of Information Security
