From: Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President
Dear Oregon State University Community,
On December 8, 2023, Provost Feser announced the establishment of an AI@OSU Advisory Group that will facilitate the development of an institutional artificial intelligence (AI) strategy that aligns with OSU's new strategic plan, Prosperity Widely Shared: The Oregon State Plan. An AI@OSU Coordinating Team has also been created to serve as a think tank, identifying opportunities for OSU to explore engaging with or investing in AI programs, projects, processes, tools and activities; curating the Future AI website; and engaging the university.
We invite you to join us in exploring what Oregon State University's AI strategy should address and how we will transform OSU’s culture to incorporate AI in all aspects of our mission, values and vision.
To respond to this call, any faculty, staff or student can submit a 1-page Concept Paper at this SUBMIT LINK by the deadline of March 15, 2024, with ideas for how OSU can incorporate, integrate and deploy Artificial Intelligence to achieve the vision outlined in four broad AI domains: AI Education; AI Knowledge, AI Economy and Powered by AI. Note: the link above goes to a Microsoft Form that requires an ONID account.
Thank you for your time and efforts on behalf of Oregon State University!
Sincerely,
Vrushali Bokil, Chair - AI@OSU Advisory Group, Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, College of Science
Sam Williams, Chair - AI@OSU Coordinating Team, Executive Director, Business Architecture, University Information and Technology
